Behind every considered bathroom collection is a designer with a clear point of view.
At Robertson Design Ideas, our brand partners work with some of the world’s most respected architects, artists and product designers, each bringing their own understanding of form, material, proportion and performance to the bathroom.
From Italian ceramic masters to internationally recognised design studios, these creatives help shape the products we specify, admire and bring into New Zealand homes, hotels and commercial spaces. Their work influences how a basin sits within a room, how tapware feels in the hand, how ceramic becomes sculptural, and how the bathroom can become a more expressive and personal space.
This section introduces the designers behind many of our leading collections, including names connected to Flaminia, Zucchetti, Kos, Alice Ceramica and other international bathroom brands. Explore their stories, discover the collections they have created, and learn how their design thinking continues to shape contemporary bathroom design.
A leading force in contemporary bathroom design, Ludovica + Roberto Palomba are known for their timeless, sculptural and highly architectural approach. Their work connects several of our key brands, including Flaminia, Zucchetti and Kos, with collections such as Pan, Pan S, Twin, Link, Faraway, Morphing, Kaos, Soft and Agorà.
An influential figure in Italian design, Giulio Cappellini has helped shape Flaminia’s design direction as art director since 2004. His work brings an editorial, sculptural and highly creative perspective to ceramic bathroomware, with collections including Acquagrande, Link, Settecento and Fontana.
Closely connected to contemporary ceramic bathroom design, Massimiliano Braconi is known for his refined and architectural approach to form. His work with Alice Ceramica includes collections such as Form, Nur, Spy, Boheme and Equilibrium.
Founded by Oki Sato, nendo is a Tokyo-based design studio known for quiet ideas, subtle humour and refined simplicity. For Flaminia, nendo has designed distinctive collections including Pinch, Roll, Box and Taki.
Elena Salmistraro’s work sits between design, art and imagination. Known for expressive forms, colour and character, she has designed Flaminia collections including Spire, Spire+ and Falala, creating ceramic pieces with strong sculptural presence.
Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez bring a refined, architectural and technically considered approach to tapware design. Their work for Zucchetti includes Isy22, Bellagio and Hoop, collections that balance elegance, performance and enduring Italian design.
Alberto and Francesco Meda bring together engineering knowledge and contemporary design thinking. Their Medameda collection for Zucchetti is defined by pure cylindrical forms, balanced proportions and a calm architectural presence.
The global design studio Yabu Pushelberg is known for luxury hospitality, residential interiors and product design. For Zucchetti, the studio created Veloce, a refined tapware collection inspired by the elegance of the 1930s.
